Puntiró House
Puntiró, Mallorca
2015 – 2017
The situation is a mixture of an urban neighbourhood in a rural area, a low density area with big plots around 7.000 sqm surface , where you can find old abandoned villas built in the 80’s and new houses with modern designs.
The planning legislation is like in the rural area but the reality is different, so you can realize the fight between the legislation against the modernity.
In this encounter we are on the side of the adaptation of the modern shapes always using local materials.
Mediterranean architecture
Façades of Sandy Stone, wood and concrete are the materials chosen for adaptation to the Mediterranean landscape.
Interiors are in concrete floors and wood windows, a mixture between modern and warm materials
Morphology
The morphology is generated by a typical Mallorcan volumetry with inverted orientation to minimize the height of the entrance and an opened facade to the south orientation to take the maximum solar incidence.
