Son Puig
Palma
2018 – 2021
The place
Son Puig is a new residential neighborhood close to the mountains but connected to the neighborhood of La Vileta. An urbanization with nearby services but that wants the closest connection with nature.
Framed in an residential area without identity, the architecture of the house seeks to integrate into modernity although using rural materials such as sandstone or lime on facades.
Morphology
The volumes are disconnected on the first floor creating exterior voids used as an extension of the interiors and also reducing the massiveness of the volume that generates the L-shape seeking to create a patio with the pool.
The house has been organized in an L-shape which grows to three clearly differentiated volumes, generating spaces for relationships, visual connection with the outside and ventilation. In ground floor the program for a family living toguether and separately in first floor.
Interior design is done by the owners, giving their personality to the house and using natural fabrics and old design pieces of furniture.
On the ground floor, the program to socialize a family that lives together, providing separate spaces on the first floor for privacy and tranquility in the rooms to sleep and work from home.
Interior walls are finished with exposed plaster and raw concrete floors that give it heterogeneity and a visual aspect of handcrafted construction.
Materiality
