A House in Cas Concos

Cas Concos is a llogaret—a small rural settlement where stone houses gather quietly around the church, and time unfolds at the slow cadence of the countryside. Surrounded by almond trees, fig groves, and paths of reddish earth, the village rests within a landscape that is austere, ancient, and deeply Mediterranean.

Two balanced volumes flank this open void, forming a composition that recalls vernacular typologies while filtering them through a lens of rural rationalism.

Rather than asserting itself, the house listens. It emerges from the logic of the place, seeking a measured rationality that is legible from the moment of arrival.

From the access path, a clear north–south axis structures the project, establishing a symmetrical order that frames a modest central patio.

This initial gesture is both spatial and symbolic: a quiet discipline that speaks of permanence, proportion, and restraint.

The domestic realm unfolds along this axis, where private and semi-public spaces interweave naturally, blurring thresholds rather than enforcing them.

Life expands and contracts between interior rooms and sheltered outdoor spaces, allowing everyday rituals to remain connected to the climate and the land.
